DMCA / Copyright Policy

TikItDown is a download tool: it fetches a public video link only when a user asks us to, and it does not host, upload, publish or index any user content. That said, we take copyright seriously and respond to valid takedown requests promptly.

What TikItDown does and does not do

Every download starts with a link pasted by the user. TikItDown requests that public source file and hands it to the user. We do not maintain a catalog of videos, do not make content available to anyone but the requesting user, and do not store files on our servers. Videos remain on the platform of origin.

Responsibility of users

Downloading or reusing content may be restricted by the platform's terms or by the copyright of the creator. It is the user's responsibility to make sure they have permission to download and use any video or audio, in line with our Terms of Use.

Takedown requests

If you are a copyright holder and believe content accessed through TikItDown infringes your rights, email us at tikitdown@gmail.com and include:

  1. A description of the work you own and proof of ownership;
  2. The exact video link(s) involved;
  3. Your contact details; and
  4. A statement that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder.

Because TikItDown does not host content, the practical remedy for a public video is usually removal of the video from its original platform. Where we have any technical ability to prevent access, we will act as quickly as possible after a valid notice.
